CMP provides a range of services and hosts numerous events in the community throughout the year. With over 40 years of experience in serving immigrants, refugees, young people and entrepreneurs with vocational training, technical assistance and job placements, our work expands to ensuring that the needs of our growing community is comprehensive and relevant.
CMP offers Chinese language (written and verbal) instruction, art courses, and cultural classes for adults and children. Established in 1991, CMP’s Chinese School currently offers instruction for kindergarten to sixth graders and middle school aged children, art classes for children ages five through 12, and adult Mandarin classes. More than 400 students are enrolled within the Chinese School at any time. Teachers are qualified by the Department of Education of China or Taiwan and have had previous experience teaching.
Citizenship and Civic Education
Partnering New York Cares, CMP offers written exam and interview process to obtain citizenship three times a year.
English Conversation Partners
Partnering with New York Cares, you can come join your peers to improve your conversional English skills in one of CMP’s English Conversation Partners classes.
SAT Preparation Program (SAT)
SAT Preparation Program (SAT), partnering with Kaplan and New York Cares, provides free SAT prep classes to 11pm, for 21 weeks from September to May every year. The program serves 50 youth per year, and all participants show significant improvement on their actual math, verbal, and reading tests.
