Community Classes

In partnership with New York Care and Kaplan Test Prep, we also offer a range of community classes including the SAT Preparation Program, English conversation courses, and Citizenship and Civic Education.

Safety Training

Bystander training was provided to teach anyone who witnesses behavior that could lead to something high-risk or harmful and makes a choice to intervene. Being a bystander embraces an active, empowered position of disrupting harm when witnessing it. The training was conducted by Team Self-Defense NY interactively and realistically as most walked away empowered and shared that they felt “safer” following the training.

COLLEGIATE STUDENT SERVICES CENTER (CSSC)

CSSC Events

Our Collegiate Student Services Center (CSSC) aims to assist college students who are undergoing major changes in lives in post-secondary education, particularly those who study abroad in the U.S. Our goal is to help students adjust to college lives in New York, provide information and referral to services available, and connect them to support networks. As a newly launched program, we provided information about temporary housing solutions, supportive chat sessions, and applications for emergency assistance in response to heightened anxiety, especially during the COVID-19 crisis in 2022.
