William G. Leung, Chairperson

William G. Leung is a retired Vice President and Branch Manager of the TD Bank located on the corner of Bowery and Canal Street. He began his career in the banking industry as an auditor auditing the financial, subsidiary, and trading accounts of Chemical Bank. In 1989, Bill became the Branch Manager of Chemical Bank in the Chinatown marketplace, and continued in that role when Chemical Bank and Chase Bank merged. He later joined Citibank and Norfolk Bank before opening up the Chinatown Branch for the Commerce Bank, which later became TD Bank. Bill has a Master of Business Administration in Accounting from Baruch College. He began his involvement with CMP in 1992 as a member of its advisory board.


Hans Johannsen, Vice Chair

Hans Johannsen retired in 2020 as Senior Vice President and Head of Human Resources at the Agricultural Bank of China. He had been an accomplished senior level human resource professional with 30 years of generalist experience. His areas of emphasis included recruitment, performance management, benefits, and employee relations. He is proficient in organizational development, compensation, and training. Previously, he led recruitment, retention, and development efforts at the First American International Bank. At the Industrial and Commercial Bank of China, Hans was responsible for all human resources regulatory and compliance work, as well as directed the bank’s compensation and benefits strategy in the U.S. With the Oversea Chinese Banking Corporation, he was responsible for all human resources functions for the New York and Los Angles offices of this major Singapore based Southeast Asian bank. Outside of his professional life, Hans is also a freelance writer. He wrote or contributed to 6 books on military history. Four were published and 2 are in progress. Hans received his Master of Science degree in Human Resources Management from the New School University. He had also completed studies at the ABA Stonier Graduate School of Banking at the University of Pennsylvania, while also earning a certificate in Executive Leadership from the Wharton School.


Tony C. Wong, Treasurer

Tony C. Wong is the managing partner at Wong & Co. Certified Public Accountants. Tony has more than 20 years of experience in both public and private accounting, individual and corporate tax compliance, financial and estate planning, and business consulting. Tony earned both his B.A. and M.B.A. in Accounting and Taxation from Pace University in New York. He obtained his certified public accounting experience from Ernst and Young, LLP. Tony is the president of the Chinese American Society of Certified Public Accountants. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants. Tony also conducts tax seminars and financial planning for local community, trade associations, religious and non-profit organizations.


Alison Yu, Secretary

Alison Yu has been a Program Officer with the William Randolph Hearst Foundations since December 1999. In recent years, she served as a board member of Princeton-in-Asia, and a committee member of the Asian American Community Fund. Previously, Alison has also served as co-chair of the New York Chapter of Asian Americans/Pacific Islanders in Philanthropy, as well as on the Increasing Diversity and Program Committees of Philanthropy New York. Alison has been a guest speaker for the Council for the Advancement and Support of Education, New York University Heyman Center for Philanthropy and Fundraising, the Support Center of New York, Asian Americans for Equality, and other partner organizations. Prior to joining the Foundations, Alison worked in the Cultural Programs Division of the Asia Society, at the American Museum of Natural History, and as a Teaching Fellow at Dalian University of Technology (People’s Republic of China). Alison graduated from Princeton University with a degree in Religion and East Asian Studies, and earned her Master of Public Administration in Public and Nonprofit Management degree from New York University.


Deborah Chan, Esq.

Deborah Chan is attorney who primarily practices in the areas of trusts and estate planning, including advanced estate planning techniques for individuals and families in wealth preservation and business succession plans, for more than 20 years. She has been a speaker in many trusts and estate seminars in the Manhattan and Flushing areas of New York City. Debbie graduated from CUNY Law School at Queens College in 1990. Prior to her private practice in 1995, Debbie was a Legal Counsel to the Office of Legal Affairs of the Human Resources Administration of the City of New York. She currently serves on the Foundation Board of Directors of LaGuardia Community College, Board of Directors of the New York Asian Women’s Center, and member of the Mei Hua Society. Debbie also served as the Board Chair of the Chinatown Partnership Local Development Board for three years, and Chair of the Fundraising Committee of Living at Home Program at St. Vincent’s Hospital.


Suzanne Goon Mark

Suzanne Goon Mark retired from the position of Executive Director, Advertising Systems and Analytics in the Research & Insights division of Time Inc. Her team services the various properties under the Time Inc. umbrella with research and analyses to support the advertising and media efforts of the company and its clients. Suzanne began her career in advertising at Foote Cone & Belding in the media department. She joined Time Inc. in 1982 in the marketing department of Discover Magazine. She moved from the monthly to Sports Illustrated as a marketing manager. She later joined the corporate marketing area and she was part of the launch of the Market Development department. Suzanne was part of a team that received a Time Inc. President’s Award for their work in the successful launch of the Sports Illustrated Golf Plus edition. Suzanne continues to participate in the A3 (Asian-American Affinity groups) mentorship program as a mentor. She was also a mentor in the Time Warner Women’s Network pilot mentoring program. Prior to her work in advertising, Suzanne was a School Aged Child Care teacher with the Chinese-American Planning Council. In a span of over 20 years, Suzanne served as a member of the Board of Managers with the Chinatown YMCA. She also participated in Leadership NY VIII, a civic affairs program sponsored by the New York City Partnership and Chamber of Commerce. Suzanne holds a bachelor’s degree from New York University and a master’s degree from Stanford University.


David K. Ho

David Ho is the first Chinese American elected to the position of Home Care Division Vice President, 1199SEIU United Healthcare Workers East --- the largest healthcare union in the east coast. Before becoming Vice President, David worked as an organizer for nine years at the Home Care Division, and led the Chinese Home Care Workers, which has more than 10,000 members. As the home care sector becomes one of the largest sources of employment opportunities in the Chinese American community, David has been instrumental in facilitating the Union to actively engage this membership group that is largely composed of limited English speaking immigrants. He devoted his work to educate home care workers of their membership benefits, and have their voices represented in the Union. David also facilitated the formation of a Union Chinese Cultural Group that meets weekly to share their concerns and learn about American culture. Among David’s many roles in 1199SEIU is being Trustee of the 1199 Bill Michelson Home Care Industry Education Fund, as well as the Home Care Benefit Fund. He also serves on the Advisory Board of Health and Safety at the 1199SEIU Union. David graduated with a Master degree in Social Work, and is a New York State Licensed Master of Social Work.


John Lam

John Lam is Chairman and CEO of the Lam Group, which started out in the garment industry. Today, Lam Group is one of the most prominent real estate investment conglomerates in New York City that specializes in the development of commercial, residential, retail, hospitality, and mixed used properties. Through more than 30 years of real estate operation, the Lam Group acquire over 50 buildings and developed 28 hotels, channeling hundreds of millions of wealth into local industry. Its hotels alone have created over 4,000 permanent job positions. The Lam Group has been recognized as the leading group in the New York City real estate industry, with 16 well-functioning and fully owned hotels), billions of total value and around $200 million of annual rental revenue. As one brand of Lam Group, the Real Hospitality Group has over 6,000 employees, over 75 hotels, and billions of assets. Its hotel management ranks 15th among the top 100 in the United States, and its hotel construction ranks 25th. In New York, the management and construction both rank 1st. Lam Group is the only company within the United States that functions as hotel constructor, manager, and owner. It enjoys worldwide reputation for its huge achievements.


Chong Min Lee

Chong Min Lee is a Senior Vice President and Division Chief at Woori America Bank, where he manages product sales, lending, new businesses, operations, customer service, teller services, and works with regulatory compliance as well as policy and procedures. Before he assumed his current role in 2016, Mr. Lee was First Vice President and Head of Woori America Bank’s Loan Team, where he was accountable for the entire credit granting process, and monitored an assigned portfolio with a $200 million outstanding loan balance. Mr. Lee started his career with the Woori America Bank in 2003 as First Vice President - Lending Officer and Credit Manager. He won the Bank’s Best Loan Production Award twice during his 4 years in that capacity, and moved on to serve as the Relationship Manager at their Flushing Branch before heading up the Bank’s Loan Team in 2009. Mr. Lee is a graduate of New York University. He is also an avid golfer, and would love to engage in an enthusiastic conversation about golf.


Jeffrey D. Leong

Jeffrey D. Leong is the President of Life Financial Management, a full service insurance brokerage company. His company offers small business owners and individuals insurance planning and benefits planning specifically designed to meet their needs. Jeff has over 20 years of experience in the insurance industry.


Anne Louie

Anne Louie was a seasoned banking professional where her most recently served as Vice President and Branch Manager for TD Bank. Anne has over 20 years of banking experience at both large and regional financial institutions. Her previous services included Wells Fargo, Wachovia, PNC, and Chase Manhattan, where she had experience in managing established as well as opened De Novo branches. In between her banking career, Anne was owner/manager of a startup gift shop, which grew to 4 stores over a 10-year period. While an entrepreneur, Anne developed business strategies and obtained financing to support its growth. Combining small business and financial skills acquired through her professional experiences allows Anne to serve the banking community with a deep understanding of the challenges and needs that they face. After obtaining a Real Estate license, Anne recently embarks on a new career path with Keller Williams Realty.


Ayesha Ma

Being drawn to the field for its intersection of people, culture, and business, Ayesha is a seasoned marketing professional with over 20 years of experience in the hospitality industry. She is Vice President at Resorts World New York City, heading up its Asian Marketing Department and overseeing revenue growth strategy in the City’s increasingly diverse multi-ethnic market. In recent years, Ayesha has also taken on the role as a community ambassador, maintaining a strong presence in New York’s many Asian communities through media relations, sponsorships, and local outreach. Prior to joining Resorts World, Ayesha honed her hospitality expertise with Mohegan Sun Casino across various departments including advertising, finance, food and beverage service, and hotel operations. As a New York City resident herself, Ayesha takes her work to heart – she believes she has a duty to give back to the neighborhoods that sustain her work, and is grateful for the opportunity to use her business acumen to serve others and promote hospitality as a way to uplift communities. In that, besides serving on CMP’s Board, she is also a Board member of the Flushing Chinese Business Association, and a Festival Organizing Committee Member of the Hong Kong Dragon Boat Festival in New York. Ayesha earned her Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management from Johnson and Wales University, and began her career working for the New World Hotels International in her native Hong Kong.


Charles Qin

Charles is Managing Director, Head of ALM, and Capital Management at Ares Management Corporation – Ares Insurance Solutions. He oversees Asset and liability management strategies for onshore U.S. annuity products, offshore reinsurance treaties, as well as merge and acquisition transactions for the Aspida business. At Aspida, he is also responsible for asset cash flow projection and all investment related assumptions utilized for actuarial and accounting processes, provides advisory to leadership team on capital optimization and strategies, leads the design, implementation, and maintenance of broad insurance analytics platform across Ares and Aspida, and more. Prior to Ares Management, Charles served at BlackRock with progressive responsibilities from Co-Head of Americas Insurance Solutions to Global Head of Insurance Analytics. He began his career as Consulting Actuary with Milliman, spent his 4-year tenure with its operations across the globe in Sydney, London, and then Chicago. Charles brings to CMP his expertise in finance and investment, along with great people skills and high level of integrity and dedication.


Patrick Ng

Patrick Ng is the President of Po Wing Hong Food Market Inc., an international trading company that includes retail and wholesale of grocery, as well as restaurant supplies. Started with only one employee, Po Wing Hong now has over 60 employees, and the northeast sole distributor of several name brand Asian products. Patrick is President for the International Kiwanis Club, and Regional Vice Chairman of Gee Tuck Sam Tuck Association, a traditional family association founded in 1879 providing support to immigrant families. He is also honorable director of Civil Aid Service, a board member of the Chinese Cultural Art Association, and councilmember of the Asian American Restaurant Association.


Brittany Ryan

Brittany serves as a Director in PwC’s Cyber, Risk, & Regulatory platform within Consulting Solutions, where she is responsible for helping risk, compliance, and finance organizations conduct testing and assessments using analytical systems and techniques. She has a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering and a minor in Chemistry and Biomedical Engineering from the University of Pittsburgh, PA. Brittany also served four years in the U.S. military as an Army captain and chemical officer, preparing soldiers for combat through proper wear of personal protective equipment (PPE) and employing various detection systems for early warning and detection of chemical, biological, radiological, and nuclear events. Brittany currently resides in the New York Metro area and continues to serve in the U.S. Army Reserves.


Sara Tang

Sara brings with her 20 years of retail banking experience with Citibank, Chase, Bank of America, HSBC, and Citizens Bank before becoming Vice President, Market Manager of Valley Bank Lower East Side. She is a dynamic and motivated leader in financial services, relationship building, and career coaching for young bankers. Sara enjoys successful track record in working with business clients, helping them to achieve their financial goals. In addition to serving on the CMP Board of Directors, Sara also engages in various civic activities. She is an active member of Kiwanis Club of Chinatown, and the Society of Asian Federal Officers. Sara is a graduate of Baruch College, City University of New York with a degree in Business Administration.


Yvonne Tsang

After graduated magna cum laude from NYU, Yvonne started her career at Columbia Management Group, the investment management arm of Bank of America. Her corporate career continued with Citigroup Real Estate Partners, and subsequently, Cohen & Steers, Inc. She was part of a multi-manager strategy team that focused on evaluating, investing in, and managing a global investment portfolio of real estate funds. After nearly a decade in investment management, Yvonne left Corporate America and co-founded eRxCity, an innovative retail pharmacy located in the heart of Chinatown. In 2021, Yvonne extended her entrepreneurial capacity by taking on additional responsibilities as Vice President of Prosperity Enterprises Company, a commercial property management company that was founded by her father over 20 years ago. Yvonne has long been involved in charitable work. Her past involvement in volunteer efforts included those with the American Red Cross and New York Cares. One of her favorite experiences was volunteering as a teacher in CMP’s Adult English Conversation class.


Sunny Wang

Sunny Wang is the Managing Director of Broad Group with 4,000 employees and Head of its U.S. operation - Broad USA, since 2012. Broad USA is a privately held company headquartered in New Jersey, supporting the sales and services to Broad Group’s North America customers. Based in Changsha, China, Broad USA’s parent company Broad Group is a private manufacturer of central air conditioning non-electric absorption chillers that are powered by natural gas and waste heat. Sunny rose through the ranks at Broad Group. Prior to his current position, he was Regional General Manager of Central China. He started his career with the company as Senior Sales in a smaller branch office. Sunny has nearly 15 years’ experience in manufacturing industry, with a core focus on sale and marketing, as well as overall operation. Sunny also serves as an executive member of China General Chamber of Commerce – USA, and actively participates in a number of international forums and lectures on green production and construction innovation. Sunny has a BA in hospitality management from Xi’an Foreign Studies University, China, and an MBA from the University of Hull, Yorkshire, UK.


Danny K. Wong

Danny K. Wong recently joins the Customers Bank as Vice President and Client Manager for Private & Commercial Banking. He is an accomplished professional with demonstrated success in product management, operations, marketing, and finance. He had successfully led profitable product design and rollout with strong marketing campaign follow-up. Danny was First Vice President and Manager of Marketing & Product Strategy at the First American International Bank (FAIB). He was also the Community Reinvestment Act Officer for the bank. Danny managed a team of 4 Product and Marketing professionals to develop an integrated “go to” market strategy for deposit products, electronic banking, and cash management. He was also responsible for rolling out additional services including mobile banking, online banking, and relationship banking products. Danny’s career spans over a range of financial institutions, including the Alma Bank, Hudson Valley Bank, Amalgamated Bank, the Bank of New York, Citibank, and American Express. He received his MBA degree from Fordham University, and his Bachelor of Science degree from NYU Stern School of Business.


Eileen Xie

Eileen served as Vice President, CFO Change, of Credit Suisse. She has 20 years of experience in managing financial planning, capital market data analytics (particularly merger and acquisition), and compliance computation. Eileen has strong qualifications in driving competitive edges of a product as well as strategic data changes for end users or regulatory institutions. She effectively built teams, led initiatives, and enforced business processes across multiple business lines in global matrix organizations. A resourceful problem solver, Eileen has extensive experience in strategic planning, managing budget, streamlining process, communicating with stakeholders, understanding client needs, and executing projects. Prior to her current role, she served as the Head of Product Management for Thomson Reuters in Beijing, China and in New York. She was a guest speaker and panelist representing Thomson Reuters at the annual China PE/VC Forum in Shanghai. She also spoke on PE fund return overview over vintage years for NA, EMEA and Asia. Eileen holds a Master’s degree in Business Management from the George Washington University, and is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) since 2006.


Kevin Yu

Kevin Yu is the Board Chairman of the Chinese University Alumni Alliance in North America (CUAA), an alliance of Chinese university alumni associations. Under his leadership, the organization has expanded to include 73 member associations with over 100,000 member professionals in various industries. A strong believer in entrepreneurship, Kevin regularly organizes career development seminars, job fairs, business competitions, and cultural exchanges for CUAA members to network and showcase new business ideas. Professionally, Kevin serves as the Executive Vice President at Cannondale Financial, LLC., and has held various positions in the financial market over the past 30 years. He has been working in project development, training, and advising for many years, and has given lectures in business investment and project development at Harvard University, MIT, Yale University, Columbia University, Princeton University, University of Pennsylvania, New York University, the City University of New York, and Fordham University. He earned a BS degree in International Finance from Nankai University, China, and an MBA from the University of Bridgeport.
