Community is our Headquarter

CMP faced a setback when it lost its home at 70 Mulberry Street, with 18,000 square feet of program space consumed in a five-alarm fire in January 2020...

However, it didn’t beak us.

Despite the challenges, all ongoing classes and services swiftly resumed in just 8 business days, utilizing borrowed space and satellite sites. When the COVID-19 pandemic forced New York City to shut down in-person operations, CMP adapted seamlessly with all online classes retaining 100% of their students. The first virtual Job Fair even witnessed a spike in job seekers, reaching 600 registrants.

In 2020, CMP exceeded expectations, serving over 4,000 individuals and families through ongoing services and emergency response efforts—33% more than its annual average.

Fast forward to now, CMP is back to in-person services, continuing to serve the community in its fifth decade. While we wait for our new home to be rebuilt at 70 Mulberry, please visit us at 55 Chrystie Street. We look forward to seeing you!
