👥 24 enthusiastic volunteers from Regeneron and 69 of our CMP students came together at our office. Each group worked hand in hand, focusing on improving English skills.

💬 Students engaged in small English talks and mock interviews. The experience was invaluable for everyone involved! 📚✨

EMS Trainee Program Info Session with FDNY

📝 EMS (Emergency Medical Services) is a system of medical first-responders who provide urgent pre-hospital care during critical health emergencies, such as strokes, auto collisions, cardiac arrests, etc.

Our Semi-annual Job Fair on September 20th

🎉 What a successful day at CMP's Semi-annual Job Fair!

With 450 job seekers and 40 dynamic employers from various fields, including healthcare, business, nonprofits, finance, retail, city, and state agencies, notable entities like FDNY, Rendr, SinoVision, and our esteemed collaborators TD Bank and Chinatown YMCA, the event was a triumph 🌟 The event aimed at providing inclusive opportunities, and our multi-lingual flyers contributed to broadening community reach 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦

📈 To enhance the preparation of job seekers, CMP partnered with volunteers from McKinsey & Company, offering valuable services like resume review and mock interviews during the job fair. The mock interviews with McKinsey received fantastic reviews✨

Funded by the NYS Dept. of State, in collaboration with the Asian American Federation, CMP also offered free Safety Training to all job fair attendees. This initiative aimed to empower individuals, better prepare them for unexpected situations, and equip them with the skills to safely and effectively protect themselves ✊

COVID-19 Capital Costs Tax Credit Program

Empire State Development is partnering with FORWARD to administer the $250M COVID-19 Capital Costs Tax Credit Program. Eligible NYS businesses can receive a refundable tax credit of up to $25,000 based on COVID-19 expenses.

To help small business owners better understand this program, FORWARD will be hosting a webinar this Wednesday, July 26th at 1:00pm. During the webinar, FORWARD will review the program, the application process and have a Q&A session.

70 Mulberry Street Design Engagement Workshops

Are you interested in participating in a design discussion and providing your feedback for the 70 Mulberry Street building design proposal? Register for Design Engagement Workshops hosted by 70 Mulberry Street Advisory Committee, the Department of Citywide Administration Services (DCAS), the Department of Design and Construction (DDC), and Grimshaw, the project’s design consultant.

The workshops will center around the design development of proposed community spaces within the 70 Mulberry Street building. You can participate virtually or in-person.

Welcome, Yvonne!

We are very pleased and honored to welcome Mr. Yvonne Tsang, as a new member of our CMP Board of Directors!

After graduating magna cum laude from NYU, Yvonne started her career at Columbia Management Group, the investment management arm of Bank of America. Her corporate career continued with Citigroup Real Estate Partners, and subsequently, Cohen & Steers, Inc. She was part of a multi-manager strategy team that focused on evaluating, investing in, and managing a global investment portfolio of real estate funds. After nearly a decade in investment management, Yvonne left Corporate America and co-founded eRxCity, an innovative retail pharmacy located in the heart of Chinatown. In 2021, Yvonne extended her entrepreneurial capacity by taking on additional responsibilities as Vice President of Prosperity Enterprises Company, a commercial property management company that was founded by her father over 20 years ago. Yvonne has long been involved in charitable work. Her past involvement in volunteer efforts included those with the American Red Cross and New York Cares. One of her favorite experiences was volunteering as a teacher in CMP’s Adult English Conversation class.

Career Advancement Program (CAP)

We have successfully wrapped up this year’s Career Advancement Program (CAP) on Saturday, June 24th, at NBCUniversal!

The CAP took place from May 24th through June 24nd. During the immensely inspiring 5-week program, our program participants who are working professionals aiming to advance their careers in or switch career direction to Corporate America, have received lots of invaluable career advice and guidance from our corporate volunteer speakers and mentors in self-discovery and assessment, building their own brand, improving soft skills, job discovery and advancement, and tips to develop networking skills and expand professional network.

Many THANKS to our amazing volunteer speakers and mentors who were so generous and enthusiastic in offering their career development advices!

MTA, NYPD, NYCCHR Info Session

Partnering with MTA, NYPD, and NYC Commission on Human Rights (NYCCHR), we will be hosting an online Information Session on Thursday, June 1st, 11am - 12pm, to share with job seekers available job opportunities at these agencies, how, when, and where to apply, how long the process takes, and what the examination requirements are, etc.

NYCCHR will also share information about how to protect your rights as a job seeker.
