CMP CSSC (Collegiate Student Service Center) will be hosting a virtual Lunar New Year & Lantern Festival Party for international students on Tue, February 15, 2022 from 8:00 PM – 9:00 PM (EST).

The event will include various activities such as Holiday Bingo and Lantern Riddle Challenge. RSVP for FREE to win prizes, network with your fellow international students, and have fun!

Basic Photoshop Training Program

CMP will be starting a FREE Basic Photoshop Program on February 7, 2022 to provide training on basic tools & functions related to Photoshop program, basic knowledge on graphic design and its components, etc.

The program will start on February 7th and will last 4 weeks. Classes will be held every Monday and Wednesday, from 8 pm - 9 pm.

Classes will be conducted in Korean.

CitizensNYC Neighborhood Business Grants - up to $10,000

CMP BOC (Business Outreach Center) is actively assisting small businesses in applying for the CitizensNYC Neighborhood Business Grants which provides up to $10,000 grant to eligible small business owners.

Preference will be given to businesses that are:

  • Owned by people of color, immigrants, or women

  • Owned by low- and moderate-income residents

  • In need of funding to sustain business operations

To be eligible for a grant:

  • Business must be located in one of New York City’s five boroughs.

  • Active for-profit business and was generating revenue on January 1, 2020.

  • Business must employ no more than 10 employees.

  • Business can provide proof of business, such as tax return, business bank account or business license.

  • Demonstrated business revenue decrease of at least 25% due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

  • The NYS Workers' Compensation Board is offering a new webinar series to help workers who believe they contracted COVID-19 due to their work, especially those who have missed time from work or are suffering from ongoing or "long-haul" symptoms. The webinars will provide information on workers’ rights when it comes to filing a workers’ compensation claim and the cash and/or medical benefits they may be eligible to receive.

  • The NYC Department of Education announced that it will shorten quarantine and isolation periods related to COVID-19 for public school students. Public school students who test positive for COVID-19 can return to class after five days of isolation instead of 10, as long as they have been fever-free for 24 hours without the use of fever-reducing medication, their overall symptoms are improving, and they are wearing a “well-fitting” mask. The new rule will take effect Monday, Jan. 31.

  • COVID at-home rapid tests ordered through COVIDtests.gov are starting to arrive in the mail. Also, the first free N95 masks promised by the White House have started arriving at pharmacies. While shipments have begun to arrive, the program will likely to be fully operational in February. Participating pharmacies and health centers will display flyers in their facilities to let customers know free N95 masks are available. Each flyer has a QR code to scan for information on how to properly fit and remove an N95 mask.

  • COVID-19 testing is now available for City employees at 1 Centre Street, NYC, on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Testing is available by appointment only: on.nyc.gov/gettested

  • The CDC yesterday updated its recommendations for the Pfizer/BioNTech Covid-19 vaccine booster to include children as young as 12.   • Today, CDC is updating the recommendation for when many people can receive a booster shot, shortening the interval from 6 months to 5 months for people who received the Pfizer COVID-19 Vaccine. This means that people can now receive a booster shot 5 months after completing their Pfizer primary series. The booster interval recommendation for people who received the J&J vaccine (2 months) or the Moderna vaccine (6 months), has not changed. Additionally, CDC is also recommending that moderately or severely immunocompromised 5–11-year-olds receive an additional primary dose of vaccine 28 days after their second shot.   • 紐約市教育局(DOE)近日發布新規,全市公校的陽性確診學生,只要在沒有使用藥物的情況下24小時內未發燒,且狀況正在好轉並配戴符合規定的口罩,則可以在隔離五日後返回學校,不需要提供陰性檢測報告。新規將在1月31日開始生效。

  • 通過COVIDtests.gov預定的新冠快速检测盒開始寄到。另外,聯邦政府之前承諾的免費N95口罩也開始送達一些藥房。預計二月份所有參加此計劃的藥房和醫療中心都將收到口罩。届時,這些地方將在店内張貼海報,告知顧客可以領取免費的N95口罩。海報上也將有二維碼供顧客掃描以獲得更多如何正確佩戴和摘下N95口罩的資訊。

  • 美國疾病控制與預防中心 (CDC) 今天更新了接種加强針的等待期建議。接種了輝瑞疫苗的民衆,現在可以在接種第二劑之後 5 個月就進行加強針注射,比以前提前了 1 個月。接種了莫德納(6個月)和强生(2個月)的等待期保持不變。此外,免疫系統中度或重度受損的 5 至 11 歲兒童在接種第二針之後 28 天可接種第三針,以完成疫苗的主要接種程序。目前,輝瑞疫苗是該年齡層兒童唯一被推薦和授權的疫苗。瞭解更多:www.cdc.gov/media/releases/2022/s0104-Pfizer-Booster.html

  • NYC 교육부는 공립학교 학생들의 COVID-19와 관련된 검역 및 격리 기간을 단축할 것이라고 발표했습니다. 코로나19 양성 반응을 보인 공립학교 학생들은 해열제를 사용하지 않고 24시간 동안 발열이 없고 전반적인 증상이 호전되고 있는 한 10일 대신 5일의 격리 후 수업에 복귀할 수 있다. 그리고 그들은 "잘 맞는" 마스크를 쓰고 있습니다. 새로운 규정은 1월 31일 월요일부터 적용됩니다.

  • COVIDtests.gov 을 통해 주문한 국내 COVID 신속검사가 우편으로 도착하기 시작했다. 또한 백악관이 약속한 첫 무료 N95 마스크가 약국에 도착하기 시작했다. 선적이 도착하기 시작했지만, 그 프로그램은 2월에 완전히 가동될 것 같습니다. 참여 약국과 보건소에서는 고객들에게 N95 마스크가 무료로 제공된다는 것을 알리기 위해 시설 내에 전단지를 전시할 예정이다. 각 전단에는 N95 마스크를 올바르게 장착 및 제거하는 방법에 대한 정보를 스캔하는 QR 코드가 있습니다.

FREE NDA Opportunity Youth Program

The COVID-19 crisis is not over yet. Are you currently not in school AND not working, just staying home and doing nothing? Why not find something meaningful to do and meanwhile earn some money? Our NDA Opportunity Youth Program might be able to help if you are 16-24 years old and want to go back to school or gain employment.

The program will begin on 3/7/22 and end on 6/10/22. Classes will be conducted online during COVID-19.

Small Business Recovery Grant Application Workshop on 1/24

CMP BOC (Business Outreach Center) is actively assisting small and micro businesses, for-profit independent art and cultural organizations that have experienced economic hardship due to pandemic in applying for NYS COVID-19 Pandemic Small Business Recovery Grant Program. Economically and socially disadvantaged business owners, and those located in distressed communities, are strongly encouraged to apply.

If your business needs assistance on applications, attend our workshop on Jan. 24th, at 7-8 PM, to learn about the eligibility and documentation requirements of the program, and how CMP could assist you in applying for the grant.
