CMP's First HVAC Training Successfully Concluded on August 16th

CMP's first HVAC training with S&W Wilson, Inc. has come to a successful conclusion. At a graduation ceremony on Friday, August 16, CMP presented graduates with certificates of completion in recognition of their efforts and achievements.

Since the start of the course on May 22, the 3-month training not only allowed the students to practice their skills in a real HVAC work environment but also enhanced their market competitiveness through the work readiness courses provided by the CMP, such as the analysis of industry dynamics and training on interview skills, laying a foundation for their successful entry into the job market.

At the graduation ceremony, Stephanie Lau, Deputy Executive Director of CMP, said, “Today's graduation ceremony marks the end of an important learning journey for the students and the beginning of their new career.” Mr. Wilson Fung, the instructor and owner of S&W Wilson, Inc., also said that many of the students have made remarkable progress and will be recommended for relevant jobs.

HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning) covers a wide range of services for indoor environmental comfort and air quality. Since the career information session last December, CMP has recognized the high interest of the community in the knowledge and skills of the industry. In response, CMP covered the full cost of all materials and equipment and set the registration fee at just $100—over 90% below the market rate—to reduce barriers and enable more aspiring individuals to enter the field.

This training marks the CMP's first vocational training program since the loss of the original classroom space due to the 2020 fire. CMP continues to innovate and improve the quality of its services to help community members achieve economic independence and career dreams.
