UPDATES (6/30/2022)

  • Mayor Adams today announced the launch of "Test to Treat" program. The program is starting with 3 mobile testing units, paired with local pharmacies, and will expand to more than 30 units through the month of July. In the initial phase, New Yorkers who test positive for COVID-19 will receive a prescription from a clinician at the mobile site and be able to pick up the medication at the co-located pharmacy or through the city's free home delivery program. Units will be partnered and deployed at the following locations:

UPDATES (6/22/2022)

  • Starting today, 6/22, children age 6 months to 4 years old can also get the COVID-19 vaccine. For more information: www1.nyc.gov/site/doh/covid/covid-19-vaccines.page#child.

  • Governor Hochul recently announced that financial assistance will be available to help low-income electric and gas utility customers pay off past utility bills. A one-time credit will be provided to customers enrolled in the Energy Affordability Program and unpaid utility bills that have accrued through May 1, 2022 will be eliminated. The program also authorizes the same relief for any eligible low-income customers that enroll in EAP by December 31, 2022. No action will be required from existing low-income customers enrolled in the EAP to receive the benefit. The bill credit is expected to be applied to customers' accounts by August 1, 2022. A Dialogue to Address Racial Discrimination Distress Trauma

Our Chinese School Summer Saturday Program (remote) and Shuang Wen Summer Program (in-person) are now open for registration.

  • Governor Kathy Hochul yesterday announced that more than 20 million COVID-19 tests will be distributed to nursing homes, adult care facilities, schools, NYCHA residences, senior centers, food banks, and elected officials for local communities.   • Reminder: In NYC, masks are still required on public transportation, in child care settings with children under 5 years of age, health care and other congregate settings. UPDATES (3/8/2022)

  • NYC is now using an alert level system to help New Yorkers understand the current level of COVID-19 risk and how they can best protect themselves and others. According to the Health Department, the current COVID-19 Alert Level in NYC is low, meaning that COVID-19 is spreading at low levels in the community.   • Reminder: If you are a working parent and your children need their COVID-19 vaccine, under NYC's newly expanded Paid Sick Leave Law, you can get four additional hours of paid sick leave for each child aged 5-18 and each COVID-19 vaccine dose. Find a vaccine near you: nyc.gov/vaccinefinder

UPDATES (3/7/2022)

  • Starting from today, March 7, Key to NYC is paused. Indoor venues, including restaurants, fitness facilities, and entertainment spaces, no longer have to require proof of vaccination before customers enter, but businesses can still choose to require proof of vaccination. And indoor masks become optional in NYC public schools K-12. The indoor mask mandate is still active for LYFE, EarlyLearn (Infants & Toddlers), 3-K, Pre-K, and 4410 classrooms. Children two years old and older, and all staff in these classrooms, must continue to wear a face covering indoors.

UPDATES (3/4/2022)

  • Today Mayor Adams announced several changes to NYC’s COVID-19 pandemic restrictions. Beginning Monday, March 7th:

    • Key to NYC rules will be suspended. Indoor venues, including restaurants, fitness facilities, and entertainment spaces will no longer be required to check for proof of vaccination before customers enter. Businesses previously covered by Key to NYC rules will still have the flexibility to require proof of vaccination or masking indoors if they choose.

    • Masks will no longer be required on public school grounds for kindergarten to 12th grade students. While these public school children will be able to remove their masks, if they so choose, schools will continue to maintain strict COVID-19 protocols, including increased ventilation, a daily screener to ensure those with symptoms do not come to school, and test kit distribution. Masks will continue to be required for all settings with children under 5 years of age (where none of the population is yet eligible for the vaccine), including programs contracted by the New York City Department of Education with 3- and 4-year-old children as well as 3k and 4K classrooms in district schools.

    • All other COVID-19 mandates will remain in effect.

CMP will be hosting our Spring 2022 Job Fair on Thursday, March 24th , from 10 am – 2:30 pm via Zoom!

So far 20 employers from different industries/sectors have confirmed their attendance: healthcare, community organizations, business, financial Services, retail, etc. Employers will share with job seekers information about their company and job openings, and will also answer questions that job seekers have.

CSSC Workshop on 2022 H-1B Policy Interpretation

On February 25th, CSSC held a webinar on 2022 H-1B Policy, as part of its Studying and Living in America webinar series, for international students. Our volunteer speaker, Chen Xia, Esq., shared with international students information including H-1B basics and requirements, H-1B electronic lottery system, application materials preparation after winning the lottery, H-1B RFE frequent questions, and clarification of misconceptions about H-1B.
