CMP held a workshop on Work for Yourself@50+ on Wednesday, September 19th. Through this workshop, older adults learned about the options of self-employment and received advice and guidance on entrepreneurship opportunities, as well as the steps to starting a business. We’re glad that participants found the workshop very helpful and inspiring.

On Thursday, September 25th, a Small Business Legal Clinic was held to help entrepreneurs obtain legal advice from pro bono attorneys for their business ventures in manufacturing, fashion, E-commerce, restaurant, translation services and etc. We will provide them additional assistance and resources to help build their businesses and achieve their goals.

 

Our Business Outreach Center's (BOC) Upcoming Activities

Small Business Bootcamp: We are proud to present the 24th annual Small Business Bootcamp, a 10-week intensive course designed to assist entrepreneurs in developing management skills and refining business concepts, as well as creating business plans. Course topics range from entity formation and business regulations to financial management and access to capital. Class will begin on Saturday, 9/29, through Saturday, 12/15.

Work for Yourself@50+ Workshop: In partnership with AARP Foundation, CMP is proud to present Work for Yourself@50+ workshop to help older adults learn the ins and outs of successful self-employment. Our next workshop is on Wednesday, September 19th from 6 pm to 8 pm and it will be conducted in Mandarin Chinese. 

Legal Clinic: CMP is holding a Small Business Legal Clinic on Tuesday, September 25th from 2 PM - 5 PM. Volunteer attorneys will be available to provide free consultations on issues related to business formation, contracts and agreements, trademark and copyright, commercial leases and more.  Space is limited and registration is required.

Welcome Back, Larry!

We are happy to welcome Larry Mei Back as our Senior Business Counselor at CMP Business Outreach Center (CMPBOC)! 

Larry has extensive knowledge and 13 years of experience in small business development and supports businesses with a wide range of services, including business planning, financial management, access to capital, and utilizing government resources. He also develops business workshops and training programs for the community and provides one-on-one technical assistance to entrepreneurs.
