Prepare for College Workshop on August 14th

On August 14th, CMP hosted a College Workshop for youth and adults interested in pursuing higher education. The event was well-attended, with 41 participants.

The workshop focused on the application processes for CUNY colleges and financial aid. It aimed to offer a comprehensive overview of various colleges, available majors, and the necessary steps and requirements for college and financial aid applications.

Social Media Talent Strategy Workshop with PwC on July 23rd

On July 23rd, in collaboration with PwC, CMP hosted a successful workshop on Social Media Talent Strategy, attended by approximately 35 participants. Our dedicated PwC volunteers shared valuable tips on enhancing resumes, crafting attractive LinkedIn profiles, and showcasing skills effectively. During the breakout session, participants had the opportunity to have their resumes and LinkedIn profiles assessed and improved by PwC volunteers.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to PwC for providing this excellent learning opportunity!

Participants also enjoyed a complimentary professional headshot photo session the next day at the CMP office, boosting their social media profiles and confidence.

Free Mandarin Workshop on Human Rights

In collaboration with the NYC Commission on Human Rights, CMP will be launching a FREE online workshop in Mandarin focused on Human Rights. This event will cover essential topics such as employee protections and employer responsibilities.

On May 10, CMP, in collaboration with volunteers from PwC, organized a virtual Mock Interview Event aimed at helping job seekers refine their interview skills and prepare for future career opportunities. Participants engaged in 1:1 mock interviews conducted by experienced PwC professionals, simulating real interview scenarios. Each participant received detailed feedback and insights on their interview performance, helping them identify strengths and areas for improvement.

Resume Critique with McKinsey & Company on April 26

On April 26, CMP, in collaboration with volunteers from McKinsey & Company, hosted a virtual Resume Critique Event tailored for job seekers. This event provided participants with the opportunity to receive personalized resume advice and critique from McKinsey professionals. Attendees immersed themselves in an interactive Q&A session, delving into career prospects and receiving valuable expert advice to better navigate their career paths and job search strategies.

"Work for Yourself@50+" Workshop for Flushing Community

On March 7th and April 23rd, CMP, in collaboration with AARP Foundation and Flushing YMCA, organized a "Work for Yourself@50+" workshop for the Flushing community. This workshop was designed to assist older adults in understanding the ins and outs of self-employment and entrepreneurship. 34 participants attended the workshop and received valuable business information and resources for starting a successful business. 

Selling at Street Fairs and Night Markets Webinar

On Wednesday, March 20th, CMP, in partnership with Chinatown YMCA, hosted a workshop titled "Selling at Street Fairs and Night Markets," aimed at guiding aspiring entrepreneurs. We covered the necessary licenses and permits, vendor application procedures, and booth reservations, providing valuable insights on business setup and customer attraction. Following this, on April 17th, we conducted a Mandarin-language webinar that saw an impressive turnout of over 50 participants from the Chinese community.

CMP’s Business Outreach Center is excited to announce a FREE webinar titled "Selling at Street Fairs and Night Markets." This webinar is designed to provide guidance on starting an entrepreneurial journey in street fairs and night markets.

Topics to be covered include the licenses and permits required for selling goods and food items at street fairs and night markets, the procedures for applying to become a vendor and reserving a booth, as well as key considerations for setting up your booth and attracting customers.

Mckinsey Career Info Session on November 16th

On November 16th, CMP proudly hosted a McKinsey Career Forum, a dynamic event that brought together 7 accomplished McKinsey volunteers and 25 enthusiastic job fair participants.

The forum kicked off with a "Break-the-Ice" session, introducing each McKinsey volunteer and offering insights into McKinsey's impactful journey. Following this, attendees were grouped for lively discussions, providing a platform to share experiences and gather valuable career advice.

The highlight of the event is the unique opportunity for participants to connect one-on-one with McKinsey volunteers, fostering meaningful connections and expanding professional networks.
