The 18% & Growing, a coalition comprised of all Asian community-based organizations in New York City, has been tirelessly advocating for increased city funding for Community-Based Organizations (CBOs) serving Asian communities. Over the past decade, the coalition has grown from 13% & Growing to its current form, reflecting the Asian population now representing roughly 18% of the city's total. Despite this, CBOs serving Asian communities receive only about 3% of the city's funding for community services.
As a steering committee member, CMP has consistently been the largest presence at the annual rally at City Hall. This year, on May 16th, we proudly brought 65 of our students and staff, making up almost a third of the total attendees on the City Hall steps!

It was a fantastic opportunity to share available positions, training, classes, and workshops that CMP offers regularly and planned for the coming months. We spent much-needed time answering questions and developing relationships with job seekers and our community partners.
